Editorial Remarks

It's a brand new ball game for your investment portfolio and no securities analyst knows exactly how it will be played out. One thing is for certain. Investors today are now focused where they should have been all along - on earnings.

The reality about the value of a company's intellectual property, competitive advantage, or otherwise good performance means very little during extremely over-bought or over-sold market conditions. That value is framed entirely by shareholder perception. And when perception changes, the market direction and the value of your portfolio can turn on a dime. The question many are asking these days is "When will that occur?"

While there is simply no point in fretting over things you cannot control, there are alternatives to using belts and suspenders in developing a floor under your investments. Your goals, analytic ability, and tolerance for risk are all included under the critical "Mission Control" umbrella that determines your relative success. Assembling the team you require to execute in these areas will be pivotal in your ability to out-perform the market in the future.

This White Paper reflects some of the mission critical skills that I believe must be present in order to successfully build shareholder value. Coincidently, they also reflect the skills and understanding that I have developed during the course of my career as a CFO.

If the material is thought-provoking or helps you address issues in your own investment portfolio, then I am grateful you took the time to read what I had to say. I hope you found it enjoyable.
