Millionaire’s Message To Middle School Students:
Anyone Can Have Success In the Stock Market

Philadelphia, PA – April 25, 2008

What does an exceptionally successful guy with well over a million dollars have in common with 11 – and 12-year old middle school students? Steve Mazda will answer this question today for 6th Grade Math Students at Penn Treaty Middle School in his presentation on having success in the stock market.

Steve Mazda has been presenting his stock market lessons to middle school students for the past six years. In his presentation, Steve engages the students as he has them envision a personal dream. He keeps them engaged by getting them to realize the possibility of their dreams coming true. He tells true stories of wealthy individuals, including him, who have experienced great success by committing themselves to the pursuit of their dreams through perseverance and hard work. He also presents the students with a sampling of job descriptions and asks them their opinion on which they think would make the larger salary. The answer typically surprises and yet delights the impressionable youngsters. Additionally, Mazda does some calculations with the students. In particular, he calculates the pay of a minimum wage part-time job. He demonstrates how the money can accumulate to a million dollars over time if invested and not spent frivolously.

The impact Steve Mazda has on the children is clearly evident. His dynamic personality captures their attention and the genuine nature of the presentation keeps them focused. For the students, this is real life, not just some boring lesson out of a textbook. What’s even more real to the kids is when Steve tells them that his business career started at a building on Aramingo and Venango Streets, an intersection right down the block from Penn Treaty. With that seed planted, the students become very excited with the prospect of success in business and they are anxious to write that you letters the day after Mazda’s visit. Now that Mazda has the million-dollar bank account, his goal is to get his message out to a million students. The number of thank-you notes he accumulates will measure achievement of this goal for him. After today’s visit, he will have 60 more to add to the count.
